A person who has been a member of another congregation (of any denomination) and has been baptized will be
received by transfer of membership. The minister may ask for a reaffirmation of faith in Jesus Christ
when the person comes forward during a worship service.
A person who is becoming a Christian for the first time will be asked to make a confession of faith: “I
believe that Jesus is the Christ, the son of the living God, and I accept him as Lord and Savior.” Upon
this confession, a baptism by immersion will be scheduled.
An Inquirers Class is provided for those seeking answers about Torrey Pines Christian Church or the denomination, Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), or Christianity in general. The four-week class is held quarterly.
