Traditional Service

Traditional services at Torrey Pines Christian Church are held in the Sanctuary at the center of the TPCC campus. You will find this warm and welcoming service to be based on the rich traditions and beliefs on which the Disciples of Christ were founded. When you enter the beautiful Sanctuary, you will be greeted by one of our volunteers who will welcome you with the warmth of Christ's love. Before the service begins, you will be invited to enter a prayerful state while listening to a meditative organ prelude. During the service you will be welcome to participate in heart-felt congregational hymns, liturgically driven responsive readings, and the weekly celebration of Holy Communion which is open to all who accept Christ as their Savior. You will hear message-driven Old Testament and New Testament Scriptures, powerful choral anthems and dynamic sermons related to our lives and our communities. You might also hear special music provided by one of our children's choir, special guest musicians and one of our many talents parishioners. Our goal is to offer a service of individual parts, all working together towards the Glory of God.

Since the Traditional service is a service "by the people," there are many ways for you to become a part of the service regardless of your specialties or interests. There are opportunities for greeters, sound technicians, orators, computer techs, singers, instrumentalists, bell-players. If you have an interest and want to use your talent to the Glory of God, let us know.
