Caring & Support

Meal Preparation
Help TPCC members in a time of need by preparing and delivering a meal.

College Ministry
Provide Breakfast for the college student community following the Bridge service. This would happen twice a month, specifically, the 2nd/4th Sundays of each month. This is a time intended to foster relationship through casual fellowship while providing a delicious meal for college students used to campus cafeteria food. There is no intent to include programming such as a Bible study, small group, or other structured program during this time. The only goal is to show how much TPCC cares by providing food after church.

Skill Set: Just the ability to cook or purchase breakfast for 10 college students, and a willing and joyful heart!

Requirements: The volunteer(s) should be willing to prepare/purchase breakfast for approximately 10 college students. They should also be willing to set up the breakfast so it is available immediately following the Bridge service (10:15 am), and clean it up following the Traditional service/second hour Sunday school classes (11:45 am).

Hours: About 3-4 hours monthly, depending on how often they choose to serve. Volunteers could serve as often as they feel comfortable - depending on the response, probably once every 2-3 months. You may sign up for as much or as little as you would like to do.

Driving Ministry
The purpose of the Driving Ministry is to provide transportation to church services for people who have no other means of transportation. Currently, due to limited resources, the geographic area served is limited to the La Jolla/University City communities. We would love to expand the area.
Volunteers drive on a rotating schedule.  Each drives, on average, about one Sunday per month.

Driver Qualifications:  Drivers must have a valid California driver license and be between the ages of 25 and 69.  Some exceptions may be made for age limitations.  They must be drug-free and have a good driving record. Drivers use their own private vehicles.

Hours:  45 minutes before and after each service.

Prayer Team
This team is the most important!  As we have issues/student needs that come up in the ministry we will look to you to provide the prayer support that is so important.  You can walk the campus either during the week or on Sunday and pray over the students and the facilities.  You will build a system to ensure that each child is prayed for each week.  This could be done by creating a prayer "buddies” system between the generations here at TPCC.  With this team - there is great victory!

Hospitality

Greeters for the Bridge Service, Traditional Service or Torrey Kids. Be the first face our visitors and congregation see when they arrive on campus.

Requirements:  A happy smile and a joyful heart.
Hours:  30 minutes before each service.

Registration for Torrey Kids
As a part of this team, your job will be setting up the check-in and registration table.  You will make sure all the supplies are out and available, and will greet new kids and families as they arrive.  You will ask first time families to fill out the registration card so we can get their information and you will also make sure they have a nametag.  You will monitor the amount of nametags to be sure there is enough each week and you will put out the new bubble machine to mark the entrance to "Torrey Kids."  At the end of the morning all supplies will need to be put away.

Club 345 Team
This team works with students that are in 3rd, 4th and 5th grades.  We use a small group model for this classroom which includes crowdbreakers, discussion and snack.  We believe that these kids can grow deep in their faith and make a big difference in their world.  We LOVE to have men teaching this class!
