Lead Pastor Michael Spitters cannot remember a time that he did not believe in Jesus Christ. He loves to learn and discover ways to apply Jesus’ teachings in various contexts. He majored in religion and minored in biology at Hope College. That combination of study stretched and inspired him intellectually. Serving God at a young age deepened his faith. He played the guitar and led singing for the Fellowship of Christian Students in college. He also served as a camp counselor for an entire summer. His post-college experiences in Taiwan and subsequent service as a youth pastor prompted him to dig deeper into the Bible, pray more frequently and increasingly rely on the Holy Spirit for strength. His faith has grown and his call to ministry has been confirmed over and over again as he has had the privilege of witnessing significant transformation in the churches he has served. Nothing excites him more than partnering with God (and a committed church family) to touch people’s lives, restore broken relationships, deepen people’s faith and reach out to a hurting world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Rev. Nancy Fowler was first drawn to Torrey Pines Christian Church because of the

beauty of the campus. With her husband, Phil, and her two children, Nick and Katie, then 3 and 1, she found a warm and loving welcome at TPCC. That was 11 years ago. Nancy immediately became involved in many of the church's numerous opportunities for Bible study and service. As a result of this, Nancy began to hear a call to ministry and in 1999 she entered seminary at the Claremont School of Theology. She is now a licensed minister with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).

Nancy began performing weddings at Torrey Pines in early 2005. She considers it an honor and a privilege to play a part in such an important day in couple's life.

Rev. Ken Huff is a retired minister of the Christian Churches, came to TPCC in 1986 along with his wife, Ramona and daughter, Jennifer. He and Ramona immediately went to work assisting with committees, teaching Bible School and performing weddings-about 50 a year.

Since 1951 he has served only five churches as senior minister. He has performed thousands of weddings at the churches, as well as, those at various other venues. "Ramona and I have considered the performing of weddings as a ministry to love, support and direct couples in their new endeavor".

With a 40 year reputation of support and Christian love, TPCC ministers continue to be the most friendly, personable, caring and loving in the San Diego community. Engaged couples, as well as, our married couples and vendors tell us this again and again.

TPCC weddings are a vital ministry and outreach activity of the church. Our wedding ministry represents the church to the wedding guests, vendors and wedding party. Therefore, our policy is for our staff ministers to officiate at all TPCC weddings. With this, our weddings reflect the friendly personality, deep history and traditions of our church. Outside guest ministers are welcome to participate in our ceremonies in a limited role for an additional $250.00 cost.

A 1 hour pre-marital wedding consultation will be set up with your officiating minister 2-9 weeks prior to your wedding date. This is a "get to know you" session to connect with your officiating minister.
